Past Life Files 032: The Extraordinary Story of Shanti Devi

Updated: 2 days ago

For years, I have been trained and certified in Past Life Regression, and I've had the privilege of guiding people through deeply personal experiences of exploring memories that they interpret as coming from another lifetime.

Whether these experiences represent literal past lives, symbolic stories created by the subconscious mind, or something in between, many people discover powerful insights that help them better understand their lives today.

I've watched clients uncover recurring fears, unexplained emotions, relationship patterns, and lifelong questions that suddenly begin to make sense. Sometimes the greatest healing doesn't come from proving where a memory came from—it comes from finally understanding yourself.

Over the coming weeks, I'd like to share some of history's most fascinating and well-documented stories involving people who claimed to remember previous lives. These stories have inspired researchers, psychologists, spiritual seekers, and curious minds for decades.

The first story is one of the most famous of them all...

The Story of Shanti Devi

In 1926, a little girl named Shanti Devi was born in Delhi, India. By the age of four, she began insisting that her real home was in the city of Mathura. She claimed she had been married, had given birth to a son, and had died shortly after childbirth.

Her family initially dismissed the stories. But as she grew older, the details became increasingly specific—she gave names, described her former home, identified family members, and recounted events that she said had happened before her birth.

Eventually, investigators contacted the family she had described. When Shanti visited Mathura, witnesses reported that she recognized people, locations, and private details she supposedly had no ordinary way of knowing.

The case became so well known that Mahatma Gandhi appointed a committee to investigate. While some investigators believed her knowledge was extraordinary, others argued there were more conventional explanations. To this day, the case remains one of the most discussed and debated stories in the history of past-life research.
